A Flock.

What a cute sight outside my office building. A nice gaggle of geese. That is until they pooped everywhere. Including the walkway to the entrance. Damn geese. Fly South. It's Winter.

Twas the Day After Christmas

What a Christmas! J and I both agreed that this was one of the best Christmas' we've ever had and a lot of that had to do with celebrating the holiday through the eyes of a child. So let's get on with the Christmas recap.

On Christmas Eve morning Ben and I went over to my parent's house to eat breakfast and to bake Santa's cookies. Since Ben was only 10 months old last Christmas, this was the first year we did this and he absolutely loved it.

Usually on Christmas Eve we go to J's aunt's house for a big dinner and to exchange presents with his extended family, but a few of the kids had strep and everyone decided it was best to stay home. We ended up eating a nice dinner at home, relaxing in our pajamas, and making sure everything was ready for the next day.

Putting out the cookies and milk for Santa

Ben was not too thrilled to be up early on Christmas morning, but his mood soon turned around when he saw all the presents that were left for him under the tree.

Reading his letter from Santa

Ben got some really neat things for Christmas and J and I did pretty well for ourselves as well.

After we opened presents at our house we went over to my parent's house for lunch and to exchange presents with them.

After a quick nap, we packed up all the presents and headed to J's parent's house for dinner and even more celebrations.

It was a late night at J's parents and by the time we got on the road Ben was out. He was so tired he slept in until 8 the next morning and this is what we woke up to. And these are just from our parents. The things we got Ben were on the other side of the living room. So you guess what I did all today,

It was so nice to spend time with all our families. I can't wait to see how much Ben will change by the time next Christmas rolls around.  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Ho Ho, No.

Along with almost every other parent, J and I took Ben to see Santa. Ben was not thrilled and I have a feeling Santa wasn't either.
Love Santa's face.

We were surprised that Ben was more upset this year than last. Right up until we saw Santa he kept saying, "ho ho ho." To his credit, a big man with a fluffy white beard in a red suit handing out candy  to kids can be kinda creepy.

To make up for the not so fun Santa adventure, we took Ben to see The Magic Tree. It's a tree decorated with thousands of lights and was originally started by a guy at his house here in town. The tree has become so popular and with such a high number of visitors, he recently decided to move the tree to a more public location.

Ben had such a blast and despite the 20 degree weather he did not want to get back into the car. Good thing mommy had a mint in her purse that could be used as a bribe.
