Fights Happen at the Chuck E. Cheese

Is it just me or did you all know this? At lunch the other day I was talking with a coworker about how we went to Chuck E. Cheese this past weekend and she informed me that Chuck E. is prime place for knock down, drag out fights. Don't believe me? Google it.

Thankfully our location is pretty new and still filled with wild kids hyped up on sugar and frozen pizza and not thugs looking to take someone down. And since our Chuck E. is still safe we ventured out without mace for a fun time with J's mom, aunt, and brother.

Is this not precious?!

Our niece. Ben is so in love with her and such a great big cousin.

Anyone else have horror stories about Chuck E. Cheese?

Weekend Recap

How come it always seems like the weekend goes so fast? This weekend was filled with fun, family, and even a little bit of productivity.

Friday was a gorgeous day and at 5:30 it was still 70 degrees so what else were we to do but take little stroll around the neighborhood. Normally we eat dinner as a family and then it's bath and bed for Ben and let's be honest some nights mama goes to bed at 8:00 too. Friday night however J and I decided to wait until Ben was asleep and picked up dinner from one of our favorite restaurants in town. It was nice to have a quiet meal just the two of us. We watched Life As We Know It and although he'll kill me for this, I do believe I saw a little tear in J's eye.

Saturday Ben and I went over to J's cousin's house. Ben loves hanging out with all his cousins especially Michelle's daughter Kylie. We both had so much fun. I am so lucky that J has such a wonderful family who are great to be around.

By the time we left Ben was worn out.

Sunday morning we headed over to a local diner for breakfast with my parents. That afternoon I was feeling especially motivated and completed this little project with Target canisters and chalkboard labels I'd ordered on Groopdealz.

Of course I couldn't have pretty cansiters without tackling this monster.

I've been dreading organizing this since we moved in. If I had only known it would have taken 15 minutes to turn it into this I would have done it a long time ago.

Can I get a hallelujah for organization?!?

Life Update

I hope this stuff stays away until next Winter.

But I'm sure this little man wouldn't mind if he saw it again.

I'm already preparing for Easter with this little purchase from Target.

J introduced me to this and it has forever changed my life. No more pouring syrup in a measuring up and heating it up. The whole bottle goes straight into the microwave.

Ben continues to have a blast at The Little Gym.

We watched a man in a homemade "flying machine" soar above our house the other morning. It looked and sounded like a go-kart in the air.

A couple of weekends ago we celebrated J's friend's birthday. We ate at a new restaurant in town and I tried the Pear Hard Cider for the first time and it was delicious. It's a mix between a semi-sweet wine and regular cider beer.

I think that's all the randomness for now.

The New Mr. & Mrs.

J and I just got back from a fun filled weekend in Kansas City for my friend Adi's wedding. The wedding was Friday night so J and I packed up and hit the road Friday afternoon. Five minutes after we left the house the tornado siren's sounded, the wind picked up, and rain started pouring down so needless to say it was a nerve racking 2 hour drive, but we made it safe and sound.

Our friends Matt and Mallory met us at the hotel and we got the chance to hang out and catch up with them before the wedding. Adi got married in a small suburb outside of the city with only 2 hotel choices so don't mind the ugly and out of date curtains in the background.

The wedding and reception were in the same venue which made it super convenient. Adi and her new husband are on their way to Jamaica and I could not be more jealous. And more happy for them.

Saturday morning J and I got up fairly early, ate breakfast at the hotel, and then planned to go the plaza. When we stepped outside in the 30 degree weather however, we decided walking on the plaza in the cold didn't sound like fun so we explored Barnes & Nobble and grabbed some lunch.

After lunch we went to Cargo Largo which is a large warehouse full of all kinds of things from home goods, clothes, electronics, kids stuff, and even furniture. Anytime packages containing merchandise gets damaged, even if the merchandise itself isn't damaged, that inventory goes to stores like these. For example, if a delivery truck containing goods going to Pottery Barn gets in an accident, all the goods in that truck that aren't severely damaged or unusable goes to Cargo Largo. Pretty sweet.

We ended the weekend by seeing this movie and snuggling our sweet boy.

And the Oscar Goes To...

This year I decided to host my first and hopefully annual Oscar Party. The theme was "Leave the dressing up to the stars."

Nominee ballots for the guests to fill out. Competition got very fierce as there was a prize up for grabs.

All the yummy food.

I love to get creative with the names for dishes so we had the following:
Angelina's "I'll Steal Your Man" Artichoke Dip
DeNiro's "Don't Mess with Me" Deli Sandwiches
M. Night's Mini Pizzas
Kate Winslet's "Cup-kates"
Tom Hanks' "Hunk a Hunk a Cheese"
Clint Eastwoods "Knock You Dead" Cosmos

Although there were lots of mixed reviews about this years Oscars, I thought it was pretty good. Did anyone else feel like James Franco was about to fall asleep during the whole show? Wake up dude, you're hosting the Oscars!

In order to avoid a long rambling of the actual show here are my main thoughts. Anne Hathaway looked stunning.

Mila Kunis looked stunning.

I love Amy Adams just like everyone else, but her dress was not flattering.

I loved the song about the movies done in Autotune and thought it was brilliant and funny.

Did you all watch the Oscars? What did you think?
