Make this THIS weekend {Berry Berry Crisp}

Sometimes I get so caught up in Pintrest that I forget there are actual recipe sites out there. I use to use allrecipes.com all the time before I became a pinning fool.

A few weekends ago we had some strawberry and blueberries that needed to be eaten so what better way to use them than in a crisp. I turned to the forgotten allrecipes.com and found this recipe.

Instead of 3 different kinds of berries I just used two (blueberries and strawberries) and I halved the recipe since as it is serves 18 people.
So here's what you'll need to make Berry Berry Crisp.
-1 cup blueberries
-1 cup strawberries
-2 tbs. white sugar
-1 cup all purpose flour
-1 cup rolled oats
-3/4 cup packed brown sugar
-1/2 tsp cinnamon
-3/4 cup butter
-8X8 pan coated in non-stick spray
Begin by pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon,
Next, add in room temperautre butter. Mix until crumbly. I found the best way to do this was to mix it with my hands.

In a smaller bowl, add sugar and cut up berries. Mix until berries are well coated.

To avoid a soggy crust, I divided the "crisp" mixture in half and placed half of the mixture in the bottom of the pan. Bake for approximately 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

After 10 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and add the berry/sugar mixutre over the bottom layer of crisp.

Add the remaining half of the crisp to the top.

Bake for 40 minutes or until crisp is golden brown. I probably cooked mine closer to 50 minutes, but ovens may vary so keep an eye on it.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
