DIY {Owl Cupcakes}

Can a recipe be a DIY? This is less of a recipe and more of food craft so what the heck, DIY cupcakes it is!
Remember this post about the Owl themed baby shower I threw? Well here's just how to make those little owl cupcakes!
What you'll need:
-1 package Oreo Cookies
-Plain M&M's
-Chocolate Cupcakes and Chocolate Icing (I used a box mix and store bought frosting)
If you didn't get already made and iced cupcakes, do the darn thing and make em and frost em.
Next, un-twist the Oreo. All the frosting stuck to one side of the cookie so the picture below is actually two cookies, each separated (make sense?)
Break in half the frosting-less side of the cookie.
*Note: I tried cutting the cookies and found that breaking them caused much less crumbling.
Stick the halved cookie into the cupcake to make eyebrows. It doesn't matter if the cookie doesn't break evenly, you won't really be able to tell.
Next, place the frosted cookies directly under the eyebrows. It'll look a little weird and you'll start to doubt that this will look like an owl, but stick with it.
Add an M&M to each cookie. I used brown and blue for the eyes.
To finish it off (TWSS) place another M&M for the nose.
My favorite part was arranging the eyes in different directions:)
There you have it. Owl Cupcakes!
