4 years ago yesterday, J and I welcomed the most beautiful baby boy into our lives. To say he has changed our lives doesn't even begin to describe it.

He was definitely a surprise, but the best, most life changing surprise.

There is nothing like watching a child, especially your own, grow into their own little person. Ben is strong willed, opinionated, ornery, and has a heart full of love.

There's not a day that goes by that he doesn't make us laugh.

This was the first year he got to plan every aspect of his birthday. From his actual party to what he wanted to do yesterday, he had an opinion about it all.

He is smart beyond words and always asking questions as to how or why something is the way it is. I hope he never looses that desire to learn.

I can't wait to see him become a big brother. He is already so caring and protective of the little baby in my belly. He always wants to rub it and asks if his brother is still growing and when he gets to come out.

Even though this age can be a challenge at times, I can't imagine my life without him. No matter how old he is, he will always be my baby.

Random Bits

Happy Weekend!

I saw this little danger trap on the way to a client's house recently.

Mommy-son lunch date

My friend Alissa(in the silver) just bought a new house and had a bunch of work people over.

We took Ben to a live nativity scene at a local church one weekend before Christmas.

Showing off one of the Christmas presents his little brother received.

One of my best friends came in town for New Years and we had lunch on New Years Eve at a local brewery.

A crazy and wild New Years Eve. Ben finally crashed on the couch around 10:30. Although I dozed off a little, I managed to ring in the New Year with a toast with J.

Although this picture is really dark, my secret santa at work gave me this huge, fuzzy MU tigers blanket. I didn't even get it use it as Ben claimed it and has been sleeping with it ever since.

Train time at Barnes & Noble.

This week my goal has been to break out of my recipe rut. I tried a recipe I had pinned for Jalepeno Stuffed Chicken Breasts. It was delicious, but then again anything with cream cheese usually is.

What have you all been up to?

Christmas# 4 & 5

Christmas #4 was spent with my family. This year instead of the traditional Christmas meal of ham, mashed potatoes, etc we all brought a couple of our favorite appetizers and desserts.

The kids couldn't wait for everyone to finish eating so that we could open presents.

I wish this picture of my mom's tree had turned out better. There were SO many presents under the tree.

Our final Christmas was with J's immediate family.

Even though 5 Christmas' may have seemed like a lot, we loved every single one of them. It's so great to be with the ones you love during that time of year!

Christmas #3~Our Family

Our 3rd Christmas celebration was just our little family of 3. It will be the last Christmas that it's just the 3 of us. I can't believe next Christmas we'll have a 6 month old to celebrate with!

Santa came and left Ben a note telling him how proud he was for all the good things he did this year. Of course he ate all the cookies and drank his milk too.

Presents and stockings under the tree. Under that sheet, was Ben's big present.

These are my favorite pictures from Christmas. Ben was soooo excited to find out what was under that sheet. The pictures are a little blurry because when he saw it, he came running towards his new...

4 wheeler! Although his GiGi got him a motorcycle one, we wanted to get him a big 4 wheeler to replace his little jeep that he got on his first Christmas.

Christmas 2009. Could you not just eat him up!

Daddy and Ben took their new 4 wheelers for a spin. Ben wanted to ride his motorcycle so J decided he needed to make sure the big 4 wheeler was safe and give it a test ride too.

Playing with one of daddy's new presents.

Each Christmas keeps getting better and better and I can't wait for next year. Our final 2 Christmas celebrations coming up next!

Christmas #1 AND 2

Our first Christmas of the year was the Friday before Christmas at J's maternal grandparent's house. Ben got to hang out with his cousins, open gifts, and celebrate J's uncles birthday.

New clothes!

Coloring on one of his new presents

Christmas #2 was Christmas Eve at J's aunt's house. The rest of J's family gathers at her every Christmas Eve to celebrate and exchange gifts with J's grandma. It was our first Christmas since J's grandpa passed away. We missed him a lot, but I can't imagine what Christmas in Heaven must look like.

Ben is spoiled every year by Gigi and got lots of wonderful presents!

Giving Gigi hugs and a thank you for all the presents...

Including his new 4-wheeler motorcylce

Once Ben saw his cousins 4-wheeler being put together, daddy had to assemble his.

I love this picture. 3 grown men and a 3 year old working on the Jeep.

All ready to go. He was in LOVE with this!

As if the first 2 Christmas' weren't enough, we still had 3 more to go!
