4 Years Ago

4 years ago yesterday, J and I welcomed the most precious baby boy. To say he has changed our lives doesn't even begin to describe it. Ben was definitely a surprise, but the best, most life changing surprise.

There is nothing like watching your child grow into their own little person. Ben is strong willed, opinionated, ornery, and has a heart full of love. There's not a day that goes by that he doesn't make us laugh. This was the first year he got to plan every aspect of his birthday. From his actual party to what he wanted to do on the actual day, he had an opinion about it all.

Ben is smart beyond words and always asking questions as to how or why something is the way it is. I hope he never loses that desire to learn.

I can't wait to see him become a big brother. He is already so caring and protective of the little baby in my belly. He always wants to rub it and asks if his brother is still growing and when he gets to come out.

Even though this age can be a challenge at times, I can't imagine my life without him. No matter how old he is, he will always be my little baby.

Life Updates

Happy Weekend!

I saw this little danger trap on the way to a client's house recently.

Mommy-son lunch date at where else but Mexican.

My friend Alissa (in the silver) just bought a new house and had some work people over for a little housewarming.

We took Ben to a live nativity scene at a local church one weekend before Christmas.

Showing off one of the Christmas presents his little brother received.

One of my best friends was in town and we had lunch on New Years Eve at a local brewery.

A crazy and wild New Years Eve night. Ben finally crashed on the couch around 10:30. Although I dozed off a little, I managed to ring in the New Year at midnight with J.

More train time at Barnes & Noble.

This week my goal has been to break out of my recipe rut. I tried a recipe I had pinned forever ago for Jalepeno Stuffed Chicken Breasts. It was delicious, but then again anything with cream cheese usually is.

What have you all been up to?

Christmas Recap 2013 {Part 3}

After a slow Christmas morning at our house, we went over to my parent's house for lunch. This year instead of a traditional Christmas meal we all brought a few of our favorite appetizers and desserts.

It was torture for the kids to have to wait for everyone to finish eating so we could open presents.

That evening we went over to J's parent's house for one last celebration.

Even though 5 different Christmas' was a lot, we loved every single one of them. It's so great to be with the ones you love during this time of year!

Christmas Recap 2013 {Part 2}

Christmas morning it was just our little family of 3 and the last one before baby #2 arrives. I can't believe next Christmas we'll have a 6 month old.

Santa came and left Ben a note telling him how proud he was for all the good things he did this year. He also drank the milk and ate all the cookies we left out for him.

This is one of my favorite pictures from Christmas. Ben was sooo excited to find out what was under that sheet.

A new 4 wheeler! Although GiGi got him a motorcycle, we wanted to get him a big 4 wheeler to replace his little jeep that he got on his very first Christmas.

Christmas 2009. Could you not just eat him up?!

Daddy and Ben took the 4 wheeler for a spin. Ben wanted to ride his motorcycle so J decided to make sure the big 4 wheeler was safe :)

Daddy's new present.

Each Christmas keeps getting better and I can't wait for next year. One more Christmas recap to come!

Christmas Recap 2013 {Part 1}

Our first celebration of the season was the Friday before Christmas at J's grandparent's house. We spent time with family, opened gifts, and celebrated J's uncle's birthday.

New clothes!

Christmas Eve we headed to J's aunt's house to celebrate with his dad's side of the family. It was our first Christmas since J's grandpa passed away and we missed him a lot.

Giving Gigi hugs for all the presents. He was most excited about his new motorcycle.

Once Ben saw his cousin's 4-Wheeler being put together, he made dad assemble his.

I love this picture. 3 grown men and a 3 year old working on the Jeep.

All ready to go. He was in LOVE with this!

Another recap coming tomorrow!
