Snow Days

Last Thursday and Friday we got 10+ inches of snow. Just as the snow started to melt and the roads were cleared, another snow storm hit Tuesday and it's still snowing some today.

Rather than sulk about all that snow, we decided to play in it:)

Introducing.... Cortney's Corner

I've been doing a lot of thinking and deliberating about what I want this blog to be and who I want to be able to read it.

A few months ago this blog became private. While I loved that so many of you still read this blog and are able to catch up on our lives, I felt something was missing.

One of the things I love about blogging is that it gives you a glance into someone else's life. And that someone else may be someone you don't know. There was nothing I hated more that seeing a great recipe, project, or pictures, only to find out that I couldn't view them because that person's blog was private.

In an effort to stay more connected while still maintaining some privacy, I've created another blog Cortney's Corner.

Cortney's Corner will be an open blog. It will focus more on recipes, DIY projects, OOTD pics, my favorites from around the web, and hopefully lots more. One thing you won't see on that blog however are the day to day pics of my family or our life. Those will still be private and posted on here. That also means all the things that will be featured on Cortney's Corner won't be posted about here.

Sounds simple enough huh? It may take a while to figure out the direction of the new blog, but I'm excited so see where it goes and I hope you will follow along!

He's 4: Part 2

On Ben's actual birthday, I took off work early and J and I took him to lunch. After lunch we went to a local indoor play place where kids can climb and slide. They also have arcade games where you can win tokens. Think McDonalds play place plus Chuck E Cheese, but much cleaner and nicer:)

After playing we headed to Orange Leaf and then home to open his presents from J and I.

Still can't believe our little man is 4 years old!

He's 4: Part 1

Ben turned 4 on January 29th and we had his birthday party the weekend before. Ben has been really into Superhero's lately and chose a Spiderman themed birthday party.

*Last night at dinner we somehow got on the topic of J's birthday which is in July and Ben asked him what kind of birthday party he wanted. J explained how adults don't really have birthday themes. Ben insisted that daddy have a special cake then suggested a Colbert one. Do you think they make those?*

Anyway...with the Spiderman theme a go, we had our families over to celebrate the big day.

Even with a playroom full of toys, balloons were still the most fun.

I made Spiderman themed labels for the food

With each gift that Ben unwrapped, the kids moved closer and closer to him. It's hard to watch someone else unwrap all those presents:)

Excited for everyone to sing happy birthday and blow out his candles.

And then getting a little embarrassed.

Ben with his great grandma Gigi.

J's mom.

My parents. By then, spiderman had to change into his costume.

Ben with his cousins, Elizabeth and Hannah.

Part 2 of the birthday celebrations coming up next!

Valentine's Party

On Valentine's day, Ben's preschool had a little party. All the kids passed out their Valentine's to one another while all the parents quickly followed behind and tried to keep their kids from eating massive amounts of sugar. It was pretty funny to watch actually:)

We limit the amount of candy and junk food Ben gets to eat, but on holidays we let him just enjoy the fun and the candy that comes with it. Thankfully he's usually over the candy after about 2 pieces.

Best friends:)

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Show Me Them Teeth

On Wednesday Ben had his first dentist appointment. He did such a great job and the dentist's office was awesome. They gave him sunglasses to wear, cool gloves, and tokens for prizes at the end.

The best part of the visit? No cavities!
