Easter Sunday 2013

Ben was up bright and early on Easter morning ready to see what the Easter Bunny had brought him.

We went to church to celebrate the real reason for Easter and then went over to my parent's house for lunch and an indoor egg hunt since it was rainy.

That afternoon we went to J's parent's house since the Easter bunny left a basket there as well.

And then it was off to J's aunt's house with the rest of his family. You would think it was Christmas with all the goodies Ben got, including his first T-ball glove and bat!

The most exciting part...the Egg Hunt!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Easter Activities

I love Easter. Jesus, Spring, Eggs, Bunnies, what's not to love! Leading up to Sunday, we soaked in all things Easter.

Normally we visit Santa and the Easter Bunny at our local mall, but this year we decided to go to Bass Pro instead. Not only did we see the Bunny, but there was also an egg hunt in the store.

The wait for the Easter Bunny was about 30 minutes, but totally worth it. I mean, how cute is this picture?! Ben and I had to have a little discussion about how the Easter Bunny was not like Santa after he proceeded to tell it all the things he wanted in his basket.

After Bass Pro we went over to my sister's house to dye eggs.

And then dyed even more back at our house. This was the first year Ben was able to dye the eggs pretty much all on his own.

He even wrote his name on one.

And we made an egg for the new baby.

J made a Spiderman one which turned out to be Ben's favorite.

Later that week Ben did a flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. We tried to sign up for this last year, but it sold out fast. Although it wasn't dark enough to need flashlights when his age group went, he still thought it was neat to be in the park so late.

Ready, Set...

Everyday Happenings

We celebrated J's grandma's birthday with pizza, cake, and lots of grandkids. I also failed my 1 hour glucose test but thankfully I went the next day for the 3 hour and passed!

Last week I came down with a horrible cold. Normally when I get a cold I push through it but this one was bad. Thursday morning I woke up and my throat was on fire, I couldn't stop blowing my nose, and my eyes were watering non-stop. I may have broken down and cried at one point.
By Sunday I was feeling much better and Ben and I caught a movie and enjoyed the beautiful weather we've been having with a trip to the park.

We also had a play date with Ben's cousin. And just as I was feeling 100% better, Ben came down with a stomach bug. Thankfully it only lasted 24 hours but we were all exhausted from being up every hour during the middle of the night. This is maybe the 3rd time in his whole life he's thrown up and it was pitiful. Hopeful this is all the sickness for awhile!

30 Week Bump Update

A little late, but better late than never! 30 Weeks

Size of the baby: Almost 16 inches long and weighing in at a little over 3 pounds! Size of a head of cabbage.

Total weight gain: 22 lbs

Maternity clothes: Maternity pants, mix of both maternity and regular tops. I still need to purchase a few more maternity clothes to get me through the warmer months. I've also been wearing some non-maternity dresses since temperatures have been in the 70's.

Sleep: Still hard to get comfortable. I feel like I'm wallering around in the bed. I'm also still having some hip pain from sleeping on my side.

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement: Lots and lots. Still pretty active at night when I'm ready for bed.

Food cravings/aversions: Craving-yogurt with granola; Aversions-none

What I miss: Being comfortable and my old clothes!

Moment of the week: Passing my 3 hour glucose test with flying colors!

Disney Trip Review {Epcot & Heading Home}

We spent our final full day at Epcot and of all the parks we went to, this one was my least favorite. Next time we go to Disney World we'll skip Epcot and try out Animal Kingdom. If you've never been to Epcot it's divided up into different countries which make up the World Showcase. Overall Epcot was a lot of walking and not a whole lot of rides.

Before heading to the park we enjoyed some Mickey Mouse waffles for breakfast and Ben took a little dip in the pool while we waited for J to finish getting ready.

When we walked in the gates we immediately spotted the famous Epcot Ball. Inside the ball is the ride Spaceship Earth so we did that one first.

During the ride they take your picture and at the end post them on the tv screens outside. This was the best we got. I have no idea what's up with my face and J is loving the Disney life. Unfortunately Ben was too short to be captured by the camera.

When you get off the ride there are different games and learning centers also inside the ball. This air hockey type of game had you make energy in different parts of a city.

When we left the ball Ben had to use the bathroom which led to us stumbling upon a meet and greet with our favorite characters. The best part was the wait was less than 5 minutes!

While we visited with the characters, J went and got us Fast Passes for Soarin and I'm so glad he did since they ran out of them shortly after he got them.

We also ran into Duffy which I'd never heard of. Apparently he is the Disney Bear?

After touring around the World Showcase, Ben quickly became bored so we headed over to some of the indoor learning areas where Ben played some games and learned about fire safety in a pretend house.

Ready for a ride, we decided on Ellen's Energy Adventure which was a mix of both videos and a ride. It was a little boring at times but the part with the Dinosaurs was really neat.

We made a quick ice cream stop before riding The Seas with Nemo. This was probably my favorite ride in Epcot. It's a mix of a slow moving ride and aquarium all in one. They also had screens hidden throughout so Nemo and his friends would seem to appear in the real life aquarium.

After the ride was over you could walk around the entire aquarium and see even more animals. Including the real life Nemo characters.

We had some time to kill before Reflections which is a laser and firework show on Epcot's lake. We rode Journey Into the Imagination with Figment and then played in a play area right outside the ride.

By this time it was dark so we decided to ride Spaceship Earth one more time and then head over to see the fireworks.

We stopped briefly to look at the sea of cranberries and Ben was fascinated by the light up sidewalk.

And of course no trip to Disney is complete without a pair of ears.

By the time Reflections started Ben was tired and grouchy, but we had waited this long and didn't want to miss the show or the chance to use our Fast Passes for Soarin. The fireworks were amazing and when it was over we booked it to Soarin. This was one of the coolest rides we rode the entire trip. Soarin's a glider style ride where you feel like you're flying through different scenes projected on a huge screen. I'm so glad we stayed and stuck it out because all 3 of us loved this ride.

As soon as the ride was over Ben passed out in the stroller and we made our way to the exit as the park was closing. We tried to wake Ben up for one last family photo, but this was the best we could get:)

The plane ride home was bitter sweet. We were ready to be home and in our own beds, but sad to be leaving such a magical place. Every time a Disney commercial comes on tv Ben talks about the trip and how much he wants to go back. He even came home crying the other day because his friend Jackson from school got to go and he wanted to go so badly.

This really was one of the best trips of our lives and we can't wait to go back some day as a family of 4!

Goodbye Disney!
