A Lego Themed 5th

Ben is definitely my child. He began thinking about the theme for his 5th birthday months in advance. Several ideas were thrown out. Ninja Turtles, Regular Ninja's, Scooby Doo, Superheros, Avengers, and the list goes on and on. But as the months drew closer, it become clear that Legos would be the official theme for his 5th year. In the past 6 months I've stepped on hundreds in the middle of the night and J's wanted to simultaneously cry and cuss while trying to put together a car with 1,000 tiny pieces. Yay Legos!

This was the first year the party wasn't at our house and the first year that he's invited people other than family. The party was at a gymnastics place where kids got to climb, tumble, roll, and just be all out wild for an hour. We followed that up with pizza, cake, and presents in the upstairs "party room" which turned out not to be a room at all, but more like a big open space with tables. Nonetheless, everyone had a blast, especially the now 5 year old.

Jack got to hang out on the mat for a few seconds before everyone got there. All that sitting must have worn him out because he slept through a good chunk of the party after that.

Both kids and adults all loved this huge foam pit.

Daddy testing out the rock wall.

Each year we have a local bakery make Ben's cake and they don't disappoint. This is also the same bakery that made our wedding cake.

A little excited and shy as everyone sang.

Another year gone just like that!
