Weekend Recap

Yet another weekend has come and gone.

On Friday night Ben's school had a picnic to celebrate it's 15 year anniversary. "Picnic" really doesn't do it justice-it was more like a small carnival. There were bounce houses, face painting, snow cones, cotton candy, horse rides, games, etc. They also had dinner catered in for all the families and staff. I am so happy we made the switch to this school. MUCH better than the last one. The amount of things they do with the kids is amazing.
Jack wasn't quite sure what to think about cotton candy. Sticky and slightly gross feeling? yes. Delicious sugary goodness. double yes.

We ate lunch with my in-laws on Saturday and then they took the boys for the night. I rented Divergent and I don't know why it took me so long to watch it. I've read the first 2 books and loved them, but for some reason I thought the movie wouldn't be quite as good. It was actually pretty great and Four wasn't bad to look at. Just sayin.
J and I went out to dinner later that night with some friends we haven't seen in forever. They also happen to have THE cutest twins. I wore my go to black dress with pockets that I've had forever and a little leather jacket I bought at a boutique in New York when J and I went several years ago.

We had a leisurely Sunday morning and I tried to catch up on all the laundry, but no matter how much I wash and fold and put away there is always some still in the hampers. Ugh. I finally gave up and read these. Clean clothes are over-rated.
*Did you know I haven't paid for a subscription to US Weekly in 2 years and I just signed up for another free year subscription the other day. There is a survey company where if you take a survey you get a FREE subscription. I know it sounds sketch, but the survey takes 2 min, you don't enter any payment info, totally 100% free. No sales call, no emails, nothing. I'll make sure to post the link next time the offer becomes available.

Sunday night we went over to my parent's house and J installed 2 new ceiling fans for them. They fed us pizza in exchange and considering I wasn't the one doing the actual work, and I didn't have to cook dinner, I totally came out ahead in the deal.

While the big boys worked on the fan, this little man played his favorite game of putting lids on containers. I swear this keeps him occupied for quite a while.

Now both kids are asleep and after I wrap up this post I'm going to work on actual work for a statewide meeting I have tomorrow. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
