December Recap 2017

Although Christmas was the big event of the month, I don't want to forget all the other fun things we did during the month of December.

We started the month off by going to a "Magic Tree" Lighting ceremony.

And a few days later our elf Sparkle arrived at the doorstep complete with new Christmas pajamas.

We decorated gingerbread houses and Jack supervised (and judged) his dad's house building skills.

We attended church and the boys listened to a story from the pastor's wife. This visit also reaffirmed my belief that it's time to find a new church.

My mother-in-law and I went on a holiday home tour and I fell in love with this particular house.

Ben reached the age where he no longer wants to visit Santa (insert crying tears) so Jack and I went solo. We had about an hour wait and he did such a good job coloring while we waited.

My work had a door decorating contest and my colleagues out did themselves with a Candy Land theme followed by an awesome 80's holiday party.

Both boys had parties at school and ate way too many treats and I got the iPhone 8 and obviously LOVE the portrait mode.

We loaded up the car in our pj's and drove around looking at lights and visited yet another "Magic Tree."

I wore a cranberry skirt and cranberry lips to dinner with friends at a new restaurant. My drink also came with a pirate flag :)

One of the best things we got to do was shop for our adopted family. We had a boy who was Ben's age so he really got into it and understood the importance of giving back. He even chipped in some of his money from doing chores.

Christmas Eve Eve consisted of our annual cookie making and decorating.

And like usual, Jack ate way more than he decorated.

And that leads us up to Christmas!
